The Lead Maintenance Technician is a hands-on, advanced-level position responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery, equipment, and facility systems within our manufacturing environment. This role will lead and mentor a small team of maintenance staff, ensuring maximum operational efficiency, reliability, and adherence to all safety standards, primarily focused on our high-volume screw machines (Acme, Davenport, Kingsbury) and CNC machining centers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision:
Provide daily direction, technical guidance, and coaching to the maintenance team members.
Prioritize, assign, and monitor the completion of all preventative maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance work orders.
Assist in training and developing junior maintenance staff on proper repair techniques, safety protocols, and machine-specific procedures.
Act as the primary technical resource for complex equipment troubleshooting and repair.
Writing and sending POs for maintenance materials
Maintenance inventory management
Maintenance & Repair (Focus on Manufacturing Equipment):
Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair on a variety of production equipment, including:
Acme, Davenport, and Kingsbury screw machines.
CNC Machining Centers (e.g., Miltronics Vertical Machining Center, Okuma Turning Centers).
Conventional and automated assembly and packaging equipment.
Execute and document all planned preventive maintenance (PM) schedules to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
Diagnose and repair motor controls, PLC-based systems, and industrial electrical systems up to 480V.
Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
