Pay Rate: $26/hr
Job Description: Key responsibilities include: 1. Follow and execute molecular biology workflows (microbial cell culture, DNA purification, PCR) and operate automated laboratory robotic systems for high-throughput sample preparation and screening. 2. Organize and document laboratory data and experiments in electronic laboratory notebooks 3. Laboratory management (ordering and inventory of consumables)
Day to Day Responsibilities: Execute molecular biology workflows: microbial cell culture, DNA/RNA purification, PCR/qPCR, and sample QC. Operate, program, and maintain automated laboratory robotic systems for high-throughput sample prep and screening; perform routine calibrations and first-line troubleshooting. Organize, analyze, and document experiments and results in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) with strong data integrity practices. Manage laboratory operations: track inventory, order consumables/reagents, receive and label materials, and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Collaborate cross-functionally to schedule runs, align on assay requirements, and communicate results and issues promptly. Adhere to safety, biosafety, and quality standards; contribute to SOP writing and continuous process improvement.
Basic Qualifications Masters degree OR Bachelors degree and 2 years of experience OR Associates degree and 4 years of experience OR High school diploma / GED and 6 years of experience
Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets: Must-Have Skills 1. Molecular biology techniques
PCR, microbial culture, DNA purification. 2. Wet-lab work within last 24 months (no classroom-only experience). 3. Automation experience using platforms such as Hamilton, Tecan, Bravo, or similar.
Core molecular biology proficiency: microbial culture, nucleic-acid purification, PCR/qPCR, and basic assay troubleshooting.
Laboratory automation experience: operating and maintaining automated liquid handlers/robotic systems for high-throughput workflows (e.g., setup, method execution, error recovery).
Data rigor & documentation: accurate, timely ELN record-keeping; organizing datasets, following SOPs, and communicating results clearly.
