POSITION SUMMARY

Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer with extensive experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, modern cloud infrastructures. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, cloud system architecture, and troubleshooting across both Linux and Windows environments. This role requires strong proficiency in DevSecOps tools, automation frameworks, and secure system engineering practices, with the ability to develop, test, and integrate complex solutions in a fast-paced Agile environment.

The engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining automated deployment pipelines, configuring enterprise and access management services, and implementing automated testing solutions to ensure system reliability, scalability, and security.

RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

Design, deploy, and maintain modern cloud infrastructures

using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automated CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps tools (Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, Foreman, Selenium).

Configure and integrate enterprise services

including IdAM, Active Directory, LDAP, and support both Linux and Windows environments.

Apply engineering rigor and automation practices , creating testing plans, maintaining documentation, and ensuring secure, reliable system performance.

Collaborate in Agile teams , providing technical presentations, effective communication with stakeholders, and expert troubleshooting across complex environments.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess an active Department of Defense (DoD) TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.

Must possess DoD 8570 baseline certification (Security+ CE or higher).

Bachelor's degree or above in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related discipline.

10+ years of experience across systems engineering and DevSecOps, including cloud architecture, automation, and secure CI/CD pipeline development.

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS ; Azure acceptable).

Proficiency with DevSecOps tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, and Foreman.

Scripting experience using Python, PowerShell, or Groovy.

Experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, Rancher).

Proficiency with monitoring and analytics tools (Grafana, Splunk, AppDynamics, or DynaTrace).

Strong understanding of system security, IdAM, and Active Directory/LDAP.

Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium) and validation of security and functional requirements.

Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Jira.

Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Experience with cloud solution optimization or multi-cloud environments (Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle, IBM).

Experience with ITSM and workflow tools (ServiceNow, SharePoint).

Familiarity with virtualization and application streaming/layering technologies.

Experience with IBM Enterprise Lifecycle Management, Teamwork Cloud/Cameo, or Tableau.

Ability to assess and optimize cloud solutions with a holistic view of infrastructure and security dependencies.
