Product Architect SME with Agile methodology experience is sought to join the CBP Land Border Integration ITI2.1 team in Northern Virginia. The role supports Agile software development and hardware integration for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The candidate will work on a product team providing architectural and software engineering expertise, focusing on Agile practices and delivering releasable software. The position is full-time with up to 10% travel and requires hybrid on-site work in Sterling, VA. Minimum clearance to start is None. What Youll Get To Do

Provide architectural and software engineering guidance to managers and technical staff on a product team. Collaborate with Developers, Portfolio Managers, Business Analysts, Testers, and Production Support Engineers to implement innovative technical solutions via iterative delivery. Champion enterprise architecture standards, governance, and explore emerging technologies. Work with end-user facing teams to define technology migration strategies. Conduct Architecture reviews to ensure alignment with future state. Support the Portfolio Manager and collaborate with the Product Owner to define and maintain the Product baseline, backlog, and roadmap. Advocate effective architectural designs and optimize current architecture and processes. Identify risks, opportunities, compliance issues, or other architectural concerns. Ensure resources are engaged for complex production issues affecting applications. Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and ensure solution releases are delivered. Analyze project problems and create innovative solutions across schedule, technologies, methodologies, and tools. Champion DevSecOps and test automation within the product team. Develop the product teams technical skills through mentoring, coaching, and peer reviews. Oversee technical and agile best practices within the product team. Review Cybersecurity Assessments and Static Code Analysis to remediate and improve software quality. Define product Smoke-Test cases to ensure automated deployment tests cover necessary scenarios. Set team objectives and operational plans with measurable contributions toward results. Lead and review the work of a team with latitude and independence. Participate in CBP meetings to provide product support, analysis, and insight. You Have

Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to pass CBP background investigation (3-year felony check, 1-year checks for illegal drug use and misconduct such as theft or fraud). 10+ years of related experience. College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, or related discipline (experience may be substituted for degree). Strong software development background with at least 10 years of IT experience related to the role. 57 years experience in incremental software development projects such as Agile Scrum. Hybrid schedule with on-site requirement in Sterling, VA. You Are Good At

Experience in systems development, systems integration, application design, and/or legacy modernization. Experience in the agile management framework. Understanding of key business drivers and ability to resolve problems while driving innovation and issue resolution. Collaborating with Portfolio Managers, Developers, and Testers to implement iterative technical solutions that reduce time to delivery. Strong written and verbal communication skills and a self-starter work ethic. These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have

Prior experience with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Systems. Ability to apply advanced principles and contribute to innovative ideas. Experience solving unusually complicated problems with creative and resourceful solutions.
