Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler in Billerica, MA, to join a rapidly growing company that specializes in large commercial generators and chillers. This company is poised for significant expansion, with plans to triple its workforce in the coming year due to signed agreements with major AI Data Centers. This is a Direct Hire opportunity.
The shift of the Mechanical Assembler: Mon-Fri 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
Salary of the Mechanical Assembler: $28-$30/hr
Responsibilities of the Mechanical Assembler:
Assemble and fit large mechanical components and subassemblies according to blueprints and technical drawings.
Mount and secure parts, panels, and hardware using hand tools, power tools, cranes, and hoists.
Rebuild and assemble rotating equipment such as engines, generators, or similar machinery, including alignment and housing installation.
Perform precision mechanical work including torqueing, fastening, alignment, and fit-up of parts.
Route and secure hoses, conduit, and mechanical lines following best practices for layout and safety.
Perform visual and dimensional inspections to ensure assemblies meet quality standards.
Follow detailed assembly instructions and production documentation accurately.
Qualifications for the Mechanical Assembler:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong background working with large machinery, mechanical systems, or heavy equipment.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly blueprints.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, and basic shop equipment.
Experience using lifting devices such as hoists or cranes to position and install heavy parts.
High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or technical school certification .
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Capable of standing for extended periods and performing physical assembly work.
Willing to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as production needs require.
