Job DescriptionJob Description Lead the Night Shift to Peak Performance
As the plant transitions into night operations, you become the anchor for a skilled crew. You set the tone for safety, quality, and output, keeping the team aligned and energized while the rest of the world sleeps.
What a Night Looks Like
Begin the shift with a quick huddle: outline goals, review safety focus areas, and assign responsibilities.
Coach, motivate, and evaluate your team throughout the night—removing roadblocks and fostering continuous improvement.
Own safety on the floor: conduct proactive audits, file incident reports, and investigate close calls to prevent reoccurrence.
Keep quality tight: verify specifications are met and ensure procedures are followed without compromise.
Train employees on standard work—centered on safety, quality, and achieving production targets.
Coordinate cross-functionally: partner with HR on payroll processing, staffing, and personnel/labor matters; brief peers at shift handoff on key issues and learnings.
Steer the shift toward production goals while minimizing scrap.
Troubleshoot process, equipment, and material issues in partnership with support personnel, keeping the line running.
Schedule
This supervisor role operates on the Night Shift.
What You Bring
Minimum of 5 years of proven production supervision experience, ideally in a unionized manufacturing environment.
At least 18 months of hands-on experience with Post-Consumer Recycling (PCR).
Bachelor’s degree (not required); Six Sigma certification .
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and readiness to learn new systems.
Clear, effective communication skills—both verbal and written.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong relationships across hourly teams, management, and peers.
Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs (and at times more) and to regularly stand and move throughout the facility.
