Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Linux Systems Admin to build, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Linux servers and user workstation hardware and software; design and implement workgroup-scale networks; build and manage authentication, file-share, and other collaboration servers to support groups of client systems. This position is fully onsite in San Diego, CA. Active TS/SCI clearance required. Responsibilities: Proactively maintain, install, collect logs, and interface with various security tools. Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various operational and project needs. Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all managed environments. Fault finding, analysis and logging information for reporting and resolving performance exceptions. Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware. Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks. Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment. Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning. Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes. Requirements: Candidate must have 3-5 years of experience. Candidate must have a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. Typically, a bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology. Strong problem solving and communication skills. Security+ Certification or the ability to get certification within 3 months of hiring. Knowledge of multiple specialties such as operating systems including working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems administration. Shell, Perl, and/or PowerCLI/PowerShell scripting. Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS and LDAP. Ability to use verbal and written communication skills to present information to a diverse population (technical and non-technical). Ability to work well as a member of a team and independently. Knowledge of existing cloud technologies including principles and methods of scalability to match workloads. Experience with operating system update services such as YUM or DNF and RedHat Satellite. Knowledge of the security technologies: Trellix Anti-Virus, Host-Based Security System (HBSS), Carbon Black. Preferred: Education Experience & Skills Experience with Git configuration management. Amazon Web Services (AWS): EC2, S3 and EFS storage. DevSecOps experience or familiarity. Compensation: $130,000 - $140,000 depending on experience and degree Full Benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Paid Holidays, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law
