Job Description
International Import Export Specialist
We are looking for an
International Import Export Specialist
to support AMVAC's export and import operations for both domestic and foreign shipments by coordinating and handling the technical details of international transportation insuring compliance globally. International logistics experience required; shipping and transport of Hazardous Materials experience desired. This position is on-site 5 (five) days a week and located at our manufacturing facility in Axis, Alabama.

RESPONSIBILTIES
Comprehensive execution, submission and record keeping of import and export documentation including commercial invoices, international bills of lading, and other related shipping documents while ensuring compliance with international and U.S. laws related to import and export activity
Establishes effective working relationships with Distributors, Freight Forwarders, Customs Brokers and 3rd Party Logistics Providers
Schedules shipments with Freight Forwarders following internal guidelines regarding expected delivery dates and cost efficiencies
Works closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supply Chain and the International Sales teams providing excellent internal customer service
Maintains database for tracking shipments and all related costs at item level detail
Updates and maintains Excel spreadsheets for tracking Export orders and reports progress
Assists with preparation and review of required export documents including Hazardous Declarations (MDGs), B/Ls, VGM Certificates
Executes comprehensive examination of import documentation including commercial invoices, international bills of lading (BOL) and related shipping documents for submittal to designated customs brokers
Assists with the preparation of budgets and is responsible for maintaining, tracking, and reporting variances of this budget versus actual expenses
Prepares TSCA and FTA Certificates to ensure compliance with international and U.S. laws related to import activities
Follows US Government Import and Export regulations and procedures
Complies and ensures compliance with all regulatory safety requirements and with all regulatory environmental requirements
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3+ years’ experience in
International
transportation and compliance and commerce
Import / Export experience including: International Ocean Shipments; Incoterms® (INCO) Harmonized Tariff System; ITAR/EAR; Schedule B Classification; FTAs; Valuation and Marking is required
Experience working with Hazardous Materials and Chemicals ; EPA shipping regulations highly desirable
Microsoft EXCEL, Word, TEAMS, Outlook
HAZMAT certification (may be obtained post-employment; training provided)
Related certifications (Hazmat / ASCM CLTD0 and/or coursework a plus
Bachelor's degree
High school diploma or equivalent required plus relevant experience in logistics and international customs policies and practices
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally with service providers, internal and international customers
Ability to negotiate with excellent problem solving skills
Team player who can proactively assist co-workers and fill-in as needed
Accurate and attentive-to-detail with excellent documentation skills
Organized with ability to multi-task and manage non-scheduled situations with fluidity and professionalism
