Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 (DOE)

Report to: CFO

Working Hours: 8:00 AM start time (7.45 hours per day)

JOB SUMMARY:

In order to achieve our vision for the organization, we want to accelerate our financial transformation. We are seeking an Accounting Controller to strengthen finance capabilities for our manufacturing facility in Ohio. This role requires a wide range of skills from strategic thinking, process design to detailed hands-on work. The position reports into our Commercial Finance Director and works closely with our Chief Commercial Officer.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has experience: in a public accounting firm with public clients, in accounting operations for a mid-sized manufacturer and in SAP Business One. The ideal candidate is also skilled at information technology, improving processes that enable the business and developing people. This person is someone who can help us improve efficiencies in accounting operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Oversee accounting operations, including cash management, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), inventory, and general ledger activities.

• Lead the accounting function to ensure accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Prepare and send monthly and quarterly financial deliverables to the publicly listed parent company for consolidation.

• Work with service providers to ensure SAP Business One is optimized for peak performance to run the business.

• Oversee the month-end close process, reduce time to close and improve procedures to eliminate inefficiencies.

• Enhance and maintain financial systems, databases, software, processes, tools, and control systems.

• Review and ensure appropriate internal controls are in place.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial and tax reporting requirements, including transfer pricing documentation.

• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors; manage preparation and support for all external audits.

• Assist with special projects as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Holds an active or inactive Certified Public Accounting license in the State of Ohio

2. Bachelors or higher Degree in Accounting/Management Information Systems

3. Experience in accounting operations/financial management for a mid-sized manufacturing company

4. Experience in a public accounting firm for public or manufacturing clients

5. Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting

6. Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)

7. Strong skills with finance technology, artificial intelligence, automation and data management

8. Fluency in English; preferably can speak or read Japanese

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

License: Certified Public Accounting license is preferred, but not required.
