About the Role As a Solution Delivery Architect, you will play a crucial role in configuring mainframe hardware such as HCD and IOCP. You will lead new client migrations and configure client environments within Ensono data centers to replicate their existing settings. In addition, you will be the primary point of contact for resolving mainframe hardware issues including failed Tape Drives and offline devices. Key Responsibilities Define (GEN) mainframe equipment for integration with Mainframe CPUs. Provide ongoing support for existing mainframe equipment, including functionality, troubleshooting, and upgrades. Evaluate client systems for integration into Ensono data centers. Analyze proposed solutions for compatibility and supportability. Collaborate with network teams to identify necessary IPs and ports for all mainframe hardware devices and LPARs. Work with data center hardware teams to determine grid locations and power requirements for installations. Document all hardware and LPAR cabling, including network and FICON connections. Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in a z/OS environment managing mainframe hardware equipment. Experience creating HCD and IOCP for zOS, zVM, and zVSE in complex, multi-data center settings. Ability to support multiple client hardware upgrades and migrations. Familiarity with Z Series HMC and support elements. Proven capability to lead hardware migrations and upgrades with minimal supervision. Understanding of network connectivity for mainframe systems, including DASD and Tape subsystems. Ability to communicate effectively with account management and project teams. Experience collaborating with vendors and diverse data center support staff. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and familiarity with ITSM processes. Proficiency in Excel, Visio, and MS Project or equivalent tools. Capacity to evaluate architecture for client supportability. Deep understanding of the z/OS operating system and familiarity with tape and DASD replication methods from various vendors. Capability to build and maintain disaster recovery configurations for multiple clients at different recovery locations. Commitment to participate in Disaster Recovery Tests. Familiarity with data encryption technologies on mainframe systems. Experience with Putty. Aptitude to mentor junior Hardware Configuration team members. Understanding network requirements regarding IP addresses, ports, and firewall settings. Knowledge of various mainframe hardware/LPARs and their associated networking and cabling needs.
