to maintain and repair our construction equipment and fleet vehicles. This position will be based at our DFW
Wylie, TX
yard and includes some
limited travel (30-40%)
to project sites as needed.

Hellas is seeking a hands-on, proactive
Senior Diesel Mechanic
who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in diesel engines and heavy construction equipment, a strong commitment to preventative maintenance, and a focus on safety. This individual will play a critical role in keeping our fleet operational and ready to support projects across the country.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment, including loaders, dozers, trucks, pavers, and trailers.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance and maintain accurate service records for all vehicles and machinery.
Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cared for and stored.
Monitor inventory levels of parts, supplies, and tools; coordinate with vendors as needed.
Occasionally travel to job sites to perform field repairs or conduct equipment assessments.
Communicate with project managers and operations teams to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
Participate in equipment evaluations and make recommendations for replacement or upgrades.
Ensure compliance with all DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy construction equipment.
Technical certification or trade school degree in diesel mechanics or related field .
BILINGUAL in English & Spanish highly desirable.
Excellent mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills.
Proficient with maintenance tracking systems and basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; CDL is a plus.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Self-starter with a solution-focused attitude and ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment.
