We are looking for a dedicated Employee and Labor Relations Advisor to join Connecticut’s most comprehensive healthcare network. As an Employee and Labor Relations Advisor, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between employer and employee. Your mission will be to foster a positive work environment, enhance performance, minimize risk, and ensure compliance with policies and labor laws. You will take a proactive approach to assess workplace dynamics and address potential issues before they escalate. Additionally, you will guide leadership in effectively communicating with and engaging employees. Key responsibilities include: Facilitating investigations to address employee relations concerns and interpreting organizational policies for informed decision-making. Building effective relationships with bargaining unit employees, unions, and leadership, managing the employee grievance process, and participating in contract negotiations. Supporting leaders through the performance improvement process, including coaching, development, and corrective actions. Analyzing and summarizing workplace data to identify trends; conducting exit interviews to capture actionable insights, and collaborating with leaders to improve engagement and reduce turnover. Implementing retention strategies and solutions as recommended by HCC, and coaching leaders in promoting a supportive workplace culture. Guiding leaders in performance evaluations and merit compensation, reviewing performance ratings, and assisting with workforce reduction justifications when necessary. Collaborating with legal resources and handling various dispute resolution scenarios (e.g., CHRO, litigation, EEOC, unemployment). Effectively communicating changes in programs and policies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required. 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources, particularly in a union environment is preferred. Knowledge of labor laws, grievance arbitration, contract interpretation, and negotiations. Strong investigation skills and capabilities in coaching and mentoring. Experience in program facilitation and presentation. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and consulting skills. Proficient in conflict resolution and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
