Compensation
$26 per hour
Job Summary
The Technical Services Intern is responsible for tasks and projects related to testing, gradation, and quality control of aggregate, asphalt, and ready-mix products.
Main Responsibilities
Read, understand, and have a good working knowledge of the basic specifications, principles, and products associated with the construction / aggregate / concrete / asphalt industry
Inspect products for quality, identify and take corrective action as necessary
Ensure that accurate test results are reported daily
Review and analyze test results to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications as required
Ensure all quality control operations and activities are conducted in conformance with company policies, regulatory agencies and acceptable working practices are in compliance with standards
Recommend measures to improve quality control methods, equipment, performance, service, safety and quality of products
Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience
Must be actively working towards a college degree.
Skills
Ability to work independently and as a team
Basic math skills with the ability to calculate and analyze data
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication
Must have the ability to work well with all levels of the organization
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong tendency to take initiative
Physical Requirements
Ability to utilize hands and fingers in order to type and carry reports should the need require
Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands throughout the workday should the need arise
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch should the need arise
Ability to sit for a long period of time, possibly more than 90% of the workday
Ability to see clearly or with assistance via necessary correction
