Weekend Volunteers Needed- Hospice Companion and Caregiver Respite
Enhabit Home Health & Hospice DFW metroplex, Denton, Texas, United States, 76205
We are looking for caring weekend volunteers to provide Companionship, Socialization and Caregiver Relief. Sitting with a Hospice patient while their loved one runs errands, goes to the movie or simply just gets out of the house.
Come join the Enhabit Hospice Volunteer TEAM!
Be a part of our special team of Enhabit Hospice Volunteers. We care for our patients in the place they call home -- a private residence, skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility, or other inpatient setting. Just a few hours a week can make a lasting impact on the lives of others.
Volunteer Opportunity:
Direct Patient Care
- Sitting with patients, reading, working puzzles, watching tv/movies and sharing life stories. This may also include Caregiver Respite where you will visit with the patient while the caregiver runs errands, takes time for themselves or goes to appointments. Enhabit Hospice is looking for a volunteer to provide friendship to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members. As a hospice volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do. A few ways you can help as a hospice volunteer is by running errands for patients and families, playing games or reading with patients, caregiver respite, walking and caring for family pets, or even creating a photo album of the patient and their family.
