Responsibilities
Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated
IT Security Analyst
to join our Cybersecurity team, supporting
Identity Access Management (IAM)
and
Security Engineering
functions. In this role, youll play a critical part in protecting patient information, securing healthcare systems, and enabling safe innovation across our clinical and enterprise environments. Youll collaborate with IT, clinical, and compliance teams to manage Epic application security, access controls, and cybersecurity processes that help keep Mount Sinai secure and resilient. Administer and maintain
Epic security , including user provisioning, role definition, template design, access reviews, and go-live support. Execute tasks related to
risk assessments, incident investigations, and access audits . Actively monitor and resolve
HEAT service tickets
within defined SLAs, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution. Develop and maintain security-related
training materials, procedures, and technical documentation . Analyze
audit logs, system activity, and security alerts
to identify anomalies and recommend or implement corrective actions. Collaborate with IT infrastructure, network, and application teams to implement and enforce
IAM policies and security controls
in alignment with HIPAA, NIST, and organizational standards. Participate in
security engineering projects , IAM enhancements, and process automation initiatives. Stay informed on
emerging cybersecurity threats , healthcare compliance requirements, and identity management technologies. Demonstrate Mount Sinais values by maintaining professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to excellence in every interaction.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certifications: Microsoft or other recognized industry certifications preferred (e.g., Security+, CySA+, Azure Security Engineer). Epic Security Certification strongly preferred or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting Epic Security in a healthcare IT environment. Experience with Epic modules, security role design, template configuration, and go-live activities. At least 1 year of hands?on workstation or technical support experience preferred. Prior experience in a security or IAM?related role with exposure to access provisioning, audit log analysis, or network security concepts preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of identity and access management, authentication, and authorization principles. Ability to create or modify automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, etc.). Familiarity with network security concepts, audit tools, and log management systems.
