EMI Services is excited to announce an opening for an Estimator! In this role, you'll play a critical part in determining the costs associated with delivering exceptional products or services to our customers. Your responsibilities will include evaluating material, labor, and equipment needs, as well as analyzing quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. As an Estimator, you will compare bids against specifications and drawings to ensure we have a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to successfully secure and execute projects. Additionally, you'll actively follow up with subcontractors to guarantee the timely receipt of bids. This position specifically focuses on Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC).
$28.09/hr.-$33.14/hr. depending on experience and knowledge plus $14.75 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the drafting the project scope of work for all Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) projects
- Develop detailed Scopes of Work for various types of HVAC projects
- Solicit material and labor costs from contractors
- Solicit bids from Sub Contractors and vendors
- Review contracts for accuracy and completeness against a proposed scope of work
- Assists QC Inspectors with scope interpretations
- Facilitate the Pre-Construction Meetings with Subcontractors, coordinates schedules, vehicle pass and contractor pass processing
- Liaison with customer point of contact
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Essential Skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Basic negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Effective technical, interpersonal, organizational and telephone etiquette skills
- Knowledge with contractual language
- Basic knowledge of regulatory guidelines, particularly provisions of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation is required
- Experience with military installation projects
- Technical knowledge and training in electrical, mechanical, HVAC/BAS control systems
- Knowledge of building architectural/structural elements including; alterations and repairs
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints
- Type; operate a personal computer, with emphasis on accuracy, mental alertness, and neatness
- Be adaptable and flexible in work situations
- PRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment
- Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
