Our electronics manufacturing site in San Jose, CA is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer!
How will you make an impact?
The Manufacturing Engineer designs and develops manufacturing processes to meet production requirements of quality and quantity at the lowest possible cost. The role works closely with Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, Engineering Services, Safety, and other departments to achieve these goals.

To conform to U.S. Government export regulations/ITAR, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Schedule : 1st shift 6a-2:30p. Must be flexible to work other shifts or OT as needed.
What will you do? Responsible for new product introduction (NPI) including time studies, equipment selection, line balance data, tooling specifications, manpower requirements, and all aspects of process development
Develops methods of operation to increase efficiency and reduce costs by studying product designs, materials, machines, and workflow
Designs and develops fixtures, jigs, and tools to facilitate efficient assembly or processing of products
Ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and practices relating to quality, safety, ergonomics, etc.
Establishes production schedules based on production requirements and resources available
Works closely with Operations Management to resolve issues related to throughput, quality, and plant operations
Maintains accurate records and reports of activities such as labor utilization, machine performance, production levels, and defective rates
Provide assistance in maintaining ISO certification
Assist with electrical applications such as troubleshooting electrical wiring and testing of motors and control devices
Work safely around moving parts, electrical installations, hot surfaces, and sharp objects
How will you get here? Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Experience:
2-5 years of hands-on professional mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated hands-on experience with SMT manufacturing equipment such as screen printing, pick/place, selective and wave soldering, flow oven, and soldering inspection
Ability to read, interpret, and execute schematics
Must be able to lead technicians and manufacturing personnel
Strong communication and training skills
Must have experience with electrical concepts such as wiring layouts, electrical design
AutoCAD or SolidWorks
Knowledge and Abilities Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to operate a personal computer including Windows-based OS and related software
Advanced PC skills, including familiarity with Jabil’s software packages
Ability to write simple correspondence and read/understand visual aids
Ability to follow simple instructions and carry out basic tasks
Ability to handle standardized situations with limited variables
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to perform basic math and interpret graphs
