The Engineering Project Manager's job is to plan, execute, and complete projects on time and within budget, by managing internal resources, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring technical requirements are met. Key responsibilities include developing project plans and schedules, managing budgets and resources, assessing and mitigating risks, ensuring quality and compliance, and acting as a liaison between the project team and clients or other stakeholders. This role is critical in identifying and driving projects related to production cost analysis and reduction so a strong background in LEAN or Six Sigma is highly preferred.
A Day in the Life of an Engineering Project Manager:
Actively identify cost reduction opportunities within the operations environment
Propose and lead projects that align with key organizational goals
Develop detailed project plans, define scope, and create realistic timelines and schedules
Estimate costs, develop project budgets, and track financial expenditures to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints
Guide and motivate contributing team members, assign tasks, and coordinate the work of various individual contributors and other professionals to achieve project goals
Must be willing to work hands-on to solve problems and develop solutions. This role requires someone who can directly contribute to project deliverables while also coordinating/managing the success of the overall project
Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders, suppliers, and leadership to ensure alignment and clear communication
Identify potential risks and challenges and develop strategies to mitigate them
Ensure that projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, and relevant regulatory requirements
Assign and manage the resources needed for project success, including personnel, equipment, and materials
Make critical decisions and address technical and logistical challenges that arise during the project lifecycle
Develop and utilize a value matrix to ensure the organization is focusing resources on the most critical projects that will deliver the highest ROI.

Professional demeanor with excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence others without direct authority. Able to effectively negotiate through conflict to drive issues to resolution while always maintaining the relationship.
A solid foundation in engineering principles is essential to guide technical teams
Excellent skills in scheduling, work estimation and capacity planning, mitigating risk and managing a large pipeline of work items and projects
Track record of exceptional cross-group partnering across a wide-array of stakeholders and partners plus ability to work independently. APMEX is a team-centric environment and cross group collaboration and relationship building is a must.
Ability to work effectively with cross-function teams, multi-tasking in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills are essential.
Must be proficient in MS Office Suite to include, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software programs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; good interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail. Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in engineering field required
Master's degree highly preferred
Experience:
Minimum 5 years' work experience
Computer Skills:
Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of JIRA or other Project Management software required
Certificates and Licenses:
Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
Other Requirements:
Must be available for extended hours if needed to support deadlines
Ability to interact with all employee levels, including managers, directors and C-Level executives
Ability to function effectively as a team member and the ability to communicate and handle sensitive information
Flexibility to work in fluid environment with priorities that could change on a day-to-day basis
Past experience in a fast-paced environment
Past experience handling confidential information
