General Trades Technician role at

CGL Companies . Salary/Compensation details: $1,000 Sign-On Bonus. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background check. Responsibilities

Performs general maintenance and repair work on facilities and equipment. Responds to service requests including electrical, furnaces, lighting, HVAC systems, appliances, water heaters, disposals, general plumbing & fixtures, carpentry, painting, roofing tasks, and other required maintenance items. Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure machines operate smoothly and building conditions do not deteriorate. Adheres to an established preventive maintenance program for heating and ventilation systems and performs the required maintenance, including replacement of filters. Assists in emergency maintenance as required, including sewage back-ups, water main and/or lateral breaks, fires, water leaks, and appliance repairs. Assembles, installs and/or repairs wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment. Reads blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs. Installs, maintains, evaluates, and repairs components of the facilitys systems. Operates plant equipment and building automation systems. Maintains tools and equipment in ready repair and assists with inventory management of materials and tools. Understands proper use of equipment, chemicals, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Reads and utilizes blueprints, plans, drawings, and sketches to determine work and resources required. Maintains a clean, safe workplace and performs work in accordance with safety procedures and applicable standards (CGL Facility Maintenance standards, OSHA, and client needs). Handles hazardous materials in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Ensures unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner and that safety practices are followed. Ensures maintenance tasks meet defined standards and timelines. Available for on-call services as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Education

High school diploma (or equivalent) required. Skills/Trade Certification is a plus. Experience and Qualifications

A minimum of two to three years of experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment is desirable. General knowledge of maintenance trades: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance. EPA certification is a plus. Ability to perform work outside in all weather conditions and perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and more than 50 pounds occasionally. Willing and able to work occasional on-call shifts. Must have a valid drivers license and insurance. Must be a team player with strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability. Must be computer literate. Certifications may be required at time of hire or obtained within the required timeframe. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
