As a Network Engineer SME, you will provide expert leadership in designing, implementing, and managing sophisticated network systems and communications with special emphasis on Top Secret classification enclaves. You will architect secure network infrastructures that meet the highest security standards while enabling mission-critical operations. Your expertise will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of network systems that enable users to access highly sensitive data securely across complex classified network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Architect, design, and implement advanced network systems and communications solutions optimized for Top Secret/SCI environments. Develop specialized security architectures for Top Secret enclave protection and isolation. Create and maintain comprehensive network security strategies for classified environments. Gather complex user network requirements utilizing multiple methodologies while ensuring compliance with TS security controls. Develop and maintain extensive technical documentation, system requirements documents, and security requirements for classified networks. Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts for sophisticated network issues involving various protocols, topologies, and networking hardware in classified domains. Provide expert guidance on network architecture design, feasibility studies, and cost analysis for secure environments. Apply advanced technical and business experience to improve processes for deploying and maintaining network infrastructure within Top Secret facilities. Design, deploy, test, certify, and patch critical network components including switches, firewalls, and load balancers in classified environments. Address complex interoperability issues for all features, components, and application dependencies across classification boundaries. Provide technical leadership during Program Increments (PIs) and Agile Release Train (ART) activities. Lead incident response for critical network issues within designated resolution timelines. Develop and implement network security controls specific to Top Secret classification requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or Master's degree with 10 years of experience OR Associate degree with 13 years of experience OR High School diploma with 16 years of experience. Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering with at least 4 years working in Top Secret environments. Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph. US Citizenship is required. Experience with SAFe Agile framework in classified environments. Comprehensive understanding of multi-enclave network environments with emphasis on Top Secret infrastructure. Demonstrated experience designing and implementing secure networks in classified government environments. Relevant network certifications (CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent). Security certifications (CISSP, Security+) preferred. Advanced proficiency with: Enterprise network hardware (Cisco, SonicWall) configuration in classified environments Advanced implementation of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S) with security hardening Next-generation firewall configuration and management for TS/SCI network protection Advanced load balancer implementation and configuration for classified applications Software-defined networking technologies in high-security environments Secure VPN technologies and encrypted tunneling for classified data transmission Advanced network security principles and practices including zero-trust architecture Enterprise network monitoring, analytics, and troubleshooting tools for classified networks Network performance optimization while maintaining stringent security controls Network segmentation and isolation techniques for classified domains Advanced knowledge of IDS/IPS deployment and management Air-gapped network design and implementation May require flexible scheduling to support critical operations in Top Secret environments. Must be able to respond to critical network incidents within designated resolution timelines (Critical: 8 hours, High: 24 hours, Medium: 48 hours, Low: 72 hours) Desired Qualifications Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
