Product Owner, AVP – Credit Technology

Blackstone Credit manages approximately $500 billion of assets. As a Product Owner in Credit, you will be responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing solutions and processes that will enhance user efficiency, decrease manual intervention and assist in investment decision making.

Your primary area of focus will be technology systems used by Operations professionals (Liquid Markets). The suite of systems you will focus on includes a custom-built settlement platform in addition to other upstream (order management system) and downstream (accounting) systems. The types of assets include bonds, loans, equities, CLOs, CMBS, RMBS and CDS. The systems you will work on will integrate with several internal and external applications.

Besides working with the Tech Lead and the scrum teams, you will also work with various business stakeholders, including but not limited to traders, Trade Support and other middle‑office professionals, business management, and legal and compliance users.

Responsibilities:

Developing a vision and defining a future landscape for the product(s)

Building a roadmap to achieve the vision and socializing it with senior stakeholders

Writing user stories and epics to build out and groom the backlog, prioritize the backlog, and define releases

Coordinate and triage production support issues

Write end‑user release notes for upcoming releases

Facilitating demos with the end‑users

Building productive relationships with the end‑users so you become their trusted advisor

Being accessible to the developers for them to ask questions and better understand what they are coding.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 4 years of industry experience working as a Product Owner / Product Manager

Middle- and back‑office technology implementation experience

Experience with settlement platforms including Clearpar, DTCC, Icelink and/or LendOS

In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology

Working knowledge of product development architecture

Prioritizes work effectively

Excellent knowledge of user-centered design principles

Excellent oral and written communication

Works effectively with large teams

Understanding of design quality standards

Implementation of middle and back office technology vendors

A basic understanding of some widely used coding languages such as SQL or Java is beneficial

Expected annual base salary range: $125,000 - $200,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
