Senior Software Engineer Backend
to design, build, and scale the foundational systems that power Parkers financial platform. Youll play a key leadership role in shaping backend architecture, data infrastructure, and engineering best practices as we grow. Youll collaborate closely with Product, Infrastructure, and Data teams to deliver performant, reliable systems that process billions in transactions and empower thousands of merchants. This is a high-impact role suited for engineers who thrive on ownership, enjoy tackling complex systems challenges, and value elegant, maintainable solutions. What Youll Do:
Design and scale backend services that power Parkers financial products and APIs.
Lead architectural decisions to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability across our systems.
Build and maintain services in a modern cloud-native environment (Node.js, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS)
Partner with product and infrastructure teams to design secure, intuitive APIs and data models.
Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, technical mentorship, and architectural guidance.
Identify performance bottlenecks and lead initiatives to improve reliability, observability, and system design.
Contribute to the evolution of Parkers technical roadmap and long-term engineering vision.
Basic Qualifications:
7+ years
of professional backend software engineering experience.
Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems in production.
Strong proficiency with
Node.js
and
Typescript
(or comparable backend languages such as Go, Java, or Python).
Experience with
databases
(SQL and/or NoSQL),
Docker , and
Kubernetes .
Familiarity with
GraphQL ,
RESTful APIs , and event-driven architectures.
Solid understanding of
cloud infrastructure
(AWS or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
