What you will do As we continue to innovate and grow, our Business Development Manager (Sustainability and Digital solutions) plays a significant role in being the eyes and ears of our customers. Being a Business Development Manager for Sustainability and Digital Solutions, you will create new business opportunities for our company while maintaining strong relationships with our existing customers. By joining our Digital Solutions team, you will be equipped with the latest knowledge along with autonomy to become a reliable partner in understanding our customers requirements. You will also be responsible for developing sales of large, complex outcome?based solutions in support of our customers unique sustainability goals addressing the customers financial, business, operational and environmental challenges while transferring the risk to JCI. Example procurement models include Design?Build?Operate?Maintain, Energy Performance & Savings Contracts (EPC and ESC), Infrastructure as?a?Service (IaaS), Technology Contracting (TaaS), Net Zero Buildings as?a?Service (NZBaaS), and Building as?a?Service (BaaS / Public?Private Partnerships aka PPP or P3).
How you will do it
Connect with personnel across business lines and handle external vendors and suppliers to build both internal and external relationships. Create new business opportunities by identifying potential partnerships, opportunities and markets to enhance efficiency within the organisations sales and marketing departments. Direct strategic marketing by recommending improved strategies to expand market reach and by coordinating activities between sales and marketing teams to introduce new campaigns, share content and make moves that drive sales growth. Grow opportunities for customers by learning about their goals and helping them achieve it while collaborating with the sales team to improve our sales too. Support operations planning by working together with executives and operations specialists to assess and improve marketing and sales operations both internally and externally. Develop strategic solutions for customers that appropriately consider available facts, constraints, competitive circumstances, strategic priorities, and probable consequences; clearly connecting solutions to business needs. Provides significant industry expertise and client business acumen. Sells higher level services to the customer, enabling competitive advantage for them in the marketplace. Provides thought leadership and capitalizes on cumulative industry, product, and company?specific experiences. Captures best practices and advises and facilitates the management and movement of information. Sells, with minimal supervision, the JCI offerings persuasively, persistently and confidently to building owners and owner representatives at the C-level while reaching optimal profit levels. Particularly focusing on selling performance contracting while ensuring that we achieve maximize share of customers business. Orchestrate internal and external resources to maximize effectiveness in value to customer and JCI, while minimizing JCIs costs. Engage appropriate sales support resources determined by the JCI sales and business process including construction management services (COE), energy and operational engineering and technical support, financial, and legal resources. Utilize applicable sales tools effectively (Salesforce, Account Management, Account Plan, and TAS) to plan and document progress as well as increase business opportunity within accounts. Leverage JCI sales process checkpoints to gain progressive commitments from the customer, while meeting the milestones in the customers buying process. Actively participate and present in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to showcase the thought leadership of JCI.
What are we looking for
Strong interpersonal skills Proven experience in strategic planning and operations improvement Previous and proven experience with Technology based Solution and Innovate Sales Knows how to sell and understand the energy efficiency and sustainability industry Extensive experience selling to C?suite and negotiating large, financial and complex deal structures Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to negotiate with C?Level executives. Excellent writing skills with the ability to prepare a wide variety of communication materials for internal and external audiences. Effective in a variety of formal presentation settings: one?on?one, small and large groups, with peers, direct reports and bosses. Ability to handle pressure and execute multiple tasks simultaneously. Strategic agility: can articulately create credible visions of possibilities, while anticipating future consequences and trends accurately.
