Overview
The Network Engineer will be responsible for minimizing risk to our clients systems and data. They will assist with ensuring the stability, integrity, performance, and sustainability of in-house enterprise systems/network infrastructure and all sister-company systems. This will be achieved by applying advanced knowledge, skill, experience, and best practices in planning, designing, and developing infrastructure technologies across the enterprise, as well as by assisting with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of those technologies. Responsibilities Assist with planning, designing, implementing, monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure across the organization and sister companies. Support Cisco networking hardware and software for large-scale enterprise LAN deployments (switches, routers, wireless controllers, and access points). Configure, troubleshoot, and support Cisco 3700/4500/6500/ASR series switches, Cisco routers, and Cisco WCS wireless controllers and access points. Work with spanning tree protocols (STP); utilize HSRP, packet/protocol analyzers, and network performance tools to resolve issues affecting application and network performance. Provide maintenance and engineering support for Layer-2, supporting a global voice solution; ensure SOPs are followed and updated. Align systems/network infrastructure goals with organizational needs through technical analysis and planning. Assist with capacity planning and performance tuning of enterprise-level systems and network infrastructures. Monitor and troubleshoot network technologies to meet service-level agreements and organizational goals. Maintain and update SOP documentation (files/manuals); report on key performance indicators to upper management. Provide application support experience with enterprise systems; manage enterprise networking configuration and maintenance in a 24x7x365 SLA environment. Apply data and security governance within an enterprise; conduct in-depth research into issues and technologies; document current and future states during upgrades or system implementations. Demonstrate familiarity with network management systems, reporting, and capacity planning; possess working knowledge of fiber and copper media. Maintain working knowledge of Cisco Call Center Manager or Enterprise solutions; support 802.11 wireless technologies and installations. Travel infrequently including overnight travel as needed. CCNA/CCNP certification (preferred).
Qualifications
Technical College or Bachelors degree or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of experience with Cisco networking in large-scale enterprise LAN deployments and operations. Experience with enterprise environments supporting over 300 switches, routers, and wireless access points. Hands-on experience with routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, OSPF, IGRP). Hands-on knowledge of Cisco enterprise networking technologies including core switching, Nexus fabrics, ASA firewalls, edge and core routing, managed wireless, VLANs, DMZs, IDS/IPS, and load balancing; familiarity with virtualization and related server/storage technologies is a plus. Demonstrated ability to support complex, enterprise LAN/WAN networks. Experience with 802.11a/b/g/n wireless technology and installation; familiarity with Cisco Wi?Fi systems. Familiarity with network management systems, reporting, and capacity planning. Working knowledge of fiber and copper media. Willingness and ability to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.
