Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/01/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology position in an acute care setting requiring a CA RN license, Cath Lab and IR expertise, and call participation. Responsibilities Work in an acute care hospital Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology unit Handles both Cath Lab and IR procedures, including L & R heart cath (interventional and diagnostic), EP studies, pacemaker and defibrillator placement, PICC line and central line placement, Swans, pleurovacs, and stroke intervention Three procedure suites with an average of 8-10 cases per day Shifts are days, typically 10-hour shifts between 6:30am and 5:00pm, with 8-hour day shifts also noted Evening call required 1-2 times per week after the day shift ends Weekend call required 1-2 weekends per month, 24-hour duration from 6:30am to 6:30am Must cover 1 major and 1 minor holiday call Call response time is 30 minutes No floating required Cerner EMR is used in this unit Duties include procedure setup, circulating procedures, administering sedation, patient monitoring, and hemodynamic monitoring from the control room The RN works as part of a three-person team, with support from a Cath Lab Manager, Charge Nurse, and Cath Lab and IR Techs Unit-specific orientation provided for up to two weeks alongside another RN; RNs are not added to call rotation until the third week Scrubs are provided as part of the dress code Must pass hospital-specific clinical testing and competencies as required Holiday call coverage is mandatory as designated Candidates may not have worked directly for any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities within the past year Requirements Current and active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience in both Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology settings Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and documentation of COVID vaccination Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and procedural sedation is essential Must be comfortable rotating between the procedure room and control room for hemodynamic monitoring Previous travel experience is preferred Must provide two professional references: one supervisor from within the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the past 3 years including dates of employment and rehire eligibility Copy of driver’s license required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-630471.
