They are currently looking to expand their team by bringing on an Accounting Manager.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$80k - $105k
Position Overview:
As the Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Financial Leadership team and the financial strategy of the organization. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will support the financial operations, manage construction project finances, and support the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in construction finance, a deep understanding of project-based accounting, and WIP accounting.
Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Develop, manage, and monitor budgets and forecasts. Provide financial analysis and insights to support project planning and cost control.
  • Oversee cost accounting functions, including job costing, variance analysis, and cost allocation. Ensure accurate tracking of project costs and profitability.
  • Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes. Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and systems. Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:
  • 5+ years of experience in construction accounting.
  • 2+ years of proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of project-based accounting principles and WIP accounting.
  • Familiarity with construction management software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounting Manager:
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains, Dynamics or Dynamics 365.
  • Experience working with subcontractors and general contractors.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required.
