JOB TITLE: Field Robotics Systems Manager
Job Summary:
Will oversee and support field operations involving the use of Trimble and Leica geospatial and construction equipment. This role consults closely with the CAD/BIM department, Robotic Field Technicians, and other divisions to facilitate seamless operations from project setup to execution.
Primary Duties
Project Assistance and Collaboration:
Assist in establishing control points in the field and coordinate closely with Robotic Field Technicians to map and mark these points with high precision, maintaining a tolerance of 1/16". Collaborate proactively with the CAD/BIM team to meet project layout and design requirements. Engage with onsite Operation and General Contractor teams to prevent and resolve potential issues, drawing from construction or survey experience with a focus on commercial/industrial projects. Training and Development:
Design and oversee a training initiative to develop staff skills in operating Robotic GPS point equipment, including Robotic Total Stations, ensuring efficient usage and improved work processes. Equipment Maintenance and Inventory:
Ensure all Trimble and Leica equipment is up to date with the latest software and is calibrated regularly. Manage a detailed inventory logging the condition and location of each piece of equipment. Handle and transport up to 50 pounds of GPS equipment across various terrains at job sites. Software Management:
Assist the CAD/BIM department in leveraging the latest software for optimized project efficiency, including the competent handling of data collectors for uploading and downloading necessities based on project demands. Interdivisional Support:
Act as the central contact for Trimble-related queries and support needs across different company sectors to maintain cohesive operations. Site Visits and Operational Excellence:
Travel to various job sites and divisions to ensure the smooth running of Trimble operations, adhering to Walker Engineering's safety rules and regulations. Set up and operate Robotic GPS point equipment, including RTS, Trimble, and GPS Total Stations, for specific tasks such as locating and marking points for Electrical and Low Voltage Systems. Establish checkpoints before initiating point shootings to confirm the 1/16" tolerance, carrying the control throughout the project to maintain this standard. Position Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Preferred:
College degree in engineering, geomatics, or a related field.
Experience :
•
Required:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in utilizing Robotic GPS equipment/surveying in the commercial construction industry.
Skills and Abilities:
• Proficiency in Leica/Trimble software.
• Strong mathematical and critical thinking skills, particularly in relation to the use and operation of Robotic GPS equipment.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction blueprints and project specifications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to complete tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while adhering to aggressive project schedules.

Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to pass a driving record check.
