Job Title: Machinist Welder
Job Description
As a Machinist Welder, you will interpret 3D models and engineering drawings to plan setups, program CAM, design fixturing, and run inspection workflows. You will operate a variety of CNC machines including 3-axis, 3+2, and 5-axis mills, live-tool lathes, waterjets, and laser cutters while maintaining precise tolerances. Your role will also involve developing innovative work-holding and tooling solutions for prototyping and performing TIG and MIG welding on various metals.
Responsibilities
Interpret and analyze 3D models and engineering drawings.
Operate a variety of CNC machines while maintaining precise tolerances.
Develop innovative work-holding and tooling solutions for prototyping.
Generate efficient CAM programs and maintain tool libraries.
Perform in-process and final inspections using various metrology tools.
Optimize feeds and speeds for continuous improvement in shop processes.
Perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and steel.
Fabricate precision weldments ensuring alignment and quality.
Collaborate with engineers and machinists for design-for-manufacturing feedback.
Support fabrication of tooling, fixturing, and other structures for R&D hardware.
Document setups, offsets, inspection results, and lessons learned.
Uphold safety protocols and compliance with company standards.
Contribute to shop cleanliness, organization, and equipment readiness.
Proactively manage assigned projects to deliver results on schedule.
Essential Skills
5+ years of CNC machining experience in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
Exposure to 5-axis or mill-turn systems.
3+ years of TIG and MIG welding experience.
Welding certification with strong knowledge of codes, symbols, and techniques.
Proven ability to weld quickly, repeatably, and to tight specifications.
Expertise in at least one CAM platform (e.g., Fusion 360, Mastercam, HyperMill).
Strong GD&T literacy and ability to interpret complex drawings.
Proficiency in metrology tools and inspection methods, CMM experience preferred.
Experience machining and welding a range of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Skilled in manual machining equipment such as mills, lathes, drill presses, and saws.

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $118000.00/yr.
