The Director of Workforce Continuing Education at Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) provides innovative leadership and strategic oversight of non-credit workforce development programs across the college's service area. The Director works closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure that short-term training and credentialing opportunities are aligned with regional labor market needs, support economic mobility, and reflect CCCC's commitment to access, excellence, and workforce innovation. This position is based at the Sanford Main Campus with regular travel to campuses and community sites across Lee, Harnett, and Chatham counties. Evening or weekend hours may occasionally be required. Essential Duties

Program Development

Plan, develop, and implement workforce continuing education programs in high-demand and community driven areas. Conduct labor market analysis and needs assessments to design responsive, industry-aligned training that supports regional economic development. Lead student recruitment efforts for assigned program areas and manage FTE targets as determined by the Associate Vice President of Workforce Continuing Education. Collaborate with instructional divisions, Career and Academic Engagement, and business and industry leaders to create career pathways and stackable credential models. Ensure all programs meet Central Carolina Community College policies and North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) guidelines.

Instructional Oversight

Recruit, train, and supervise part-time instructors. Oversee curriculum development, instructional quality, and program documentation in accordance with CCCC standards and NCCCS requirements. Implement regular program evaluation and improvement plans using student outcomes and employer feedback. Promote the integration of digital learning tools and flexible delivery formats to meet learner needs. Institutional Support & Administration

Ensure accurate and timely documentation for audits, NCCCS reporting, and accreditation purposes. Contribute to institutional strategic planning and collaborate with college departments including marketing, student services, and finance. Support enrollment management, registration processes, and retention strategies for workforce students.

Community and Industry Engagement

Serve as a visible and engaged leader within the college's service area, building strong partnerships with business and industry, economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, and workforce development boards. Promote awareness of CCCC's workforce offerings through employer outreach, community presentations, and targeted marketing campaigns. Represent CCCC on relevant local and regional committees and advisory boards. Work closely with the Central Carolina Works team and K-12 partners to promote dual enrollment and career awareness. Minimum Requirements Required educational background:

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Education, Business, Public Administration, Workforce Development, or a related field. Required kind and number years of work experience:

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in workforce development, continuing education, or related postsecondary education leadership. Experience with North Carolina Community College System programs, processes, and funding models preferred. Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

Demonstrated leadership in program development, project management, and team supervision. Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Fosters a workforce that reflects a variety of experiences, perspectives, and viewpoints Ensures everyone has an equitable opportunity to learn and that all perspectives are valued and incorporated Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems; experience with Colleague, Lumens, or similar systems is a plus. Preferred Requirements

Excellent computer skills (MS/Google Suite) required; working knowledge of labor market information, local business and industries, and general business concepts.
