We are seeking an experienced Cloud Test Engineer to drive the execution of Dry Run and Design Verification (DV) testing in support of release cycles for cloud-based platforms. This role will be instrumental in driving rigorous testing practices, oversee environment stability, and compliance with regulatory documentation standards while leading a team of automation and manual test engineers.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in back-end API automation, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Development, QA, CloudOps, DevOps, Product and Regulatory groups.
Key Responsibilities
Define, lead, and drive the Design Verification (DV) and Dry Run test strategies for cloud platforms, microservices, and integrations. Oversee daily execution and monitoring of backend API automation suites (via Bamboo) to ensure environment stability and readiness. Develop and maintain release-aligned test plans across multiple cloud environments. Provide daily status updates, test execution metrics, and environment health reports, leveraging metrics to identify gaps, drive improvements, and support regulatory audits. Ensure timely and efficient execution of DV test suites to meet release schedules. Mentor and lead a distributed team of manual and automation engineers, fostering adoption of best practices in verification and execution. Coordinate test resources across onshore and offshore teams. Serve as the primary interface with the Design Quality Assurance (DQA) team, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory documentation standards. Collaborate cross-functionally with Development, QA, CloudOps, DevOps and Product to ensure test coverage aligns with design intent and system requirements. Champion continuous improvement in test strategy, automation frameworks, and reporting. Education & Experience
BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred. 7+ years in software quality assurance and test automation. 3+ years in a test leadership role with distributed teams. 5+ years hands-on experience in API verification, integration testing, and backend systems. Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and cloud environments (AWS or Azure). Experience in regulated industries (medical devices, healthcare, or similar) strongly preferred. Skills & Competencies
Strong coding/automation skills (Java, JUnit, TestNG, or equivalent). In-depth knowledge of HTTP protocols, REST APIs, and SOA architectures. Proficiency in source control (Git, Perforce) and CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Bamboo, or other build automation tools. Familiarity with cloud-native resources, microservices, and containerized environments. Strong knowledge of test methodologies, design, and execution frameworks. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration. Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices. Experience with regulatory compliance and documentation in the medical device industry is a plus.
NOTE: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements and requires on-site work from an Insulet office.
