Overview:

A leading national law firm is seeking a

Litigation Docket Clerk

to join its San Francisco office. The Litigation Docket Clerk will provide comprehensive docketing, e-filing, and administrative support to attorneys and docketing staff. This position requires a strong commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and a strong client service ethic in all communications.

Key Responsibilities:

Record litigation filings and related documents into the firm's docketing database and assist in calculating procedural deadlines.

Provide e-filing support through federal (PACER/CMECF) and state court electronic filing systems.

Maintain and update the litigation docket under the supervision of docketing coordinators and managing attorneys.

Generate, proofread, and distribute department correspondence, reports, and forms.

Create, organize, and maintain department databases, files, and libraries.

Perform data entry and ensure the accuracy of case and docketing information.

Assist in preparing invoices for submission to accounting and maintaining departmental billing records.

Support the Managing Attorney's Office with administrative and project-based tasks.

Assist in the development and maintenance of departmental procedures and policies.

Coordinate with firm personnel to ensure compliance with filing and docketing protocols.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required.

Minimum of one (1) year of litigation experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.

Familiarity with docketing or calendaring systems (e.g., Milana, eDockets, CompuLaw, or MA3000) strongly preferred.

Experience e-filing through Federal CM/ECF and/or California State Court systems is highly desirable.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort working with databases.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management abilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across departments.

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

High level of discretion and confidentiality.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Availability to work overtime or evening hours as required.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is

$50,000 - $60,000 , commensurate with experience, education, and skills. This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime.
