Job Description
The Senior Program Manager, Data Center Global Security Operations is responsible for
developing, maintaining, and standardizing all documentation that governs the physical security
program across multiple data center sites. This includes drafting, updating, and managing policies,
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Scopes of Work (SOWs), and operational standards to ensure
the safety, security, and compliance of mission-critical facilities.
This role also supports the effective use of corporate collaboration tools such as Slack, Confluence,
SharePoint, and Zoom to streamline documentation and communication processes.
The Senior Program Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring physical security operations enhance data
center reliability, regulatory compliance, and customer trust-aligning all documentation with industry
standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, and ASIS guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Documentation Development & Management
Draft, review, and maintain physical security policies, SOPs, post orders, and related
documentation for data center operations.
Develop detailed Scopes of Work (SOWs) and performance standards for contracted security
services.
Ensure documentation clearly defines site-specific procedures for access control, visitor
management, incident response, and perimeter protection.
Governance & Compliance
Align all documentation with organizational security strategy, industry best practices, and
regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST SP 800-53).
Support internal and external audit readiness through effective document control and version
management.
Integrate compliance requirements from customer SLAs and data protection obligations into
operational procedures.
Collaboration & Integration
Partner with Global Security Operations, Data Center Operations, and Compliance teams to
develop scalable, standardized processes across regions.
Collaborate with contract security providers to ensure post orders and operational instructions
accurately reflect site operations and layouts.
Work with IT and Facilities teams to align physical and logical access control documentation
where applicable.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Conduct regular reviews of documentation to identify operational or compliance gaps.
Develop and maintain document templates, naming conventions, and style guides to ensure
consistency across the global security organization.
Integrate lessons learned from incidents, audits, and site reviews into policy and procedural
updates.
Training & Communication
Produce clear, concise, and operationally relevant materials easily understood by on-site
personnel.
Support onboarding and training by delivering well-organized procedural documentation and
job aids.
Responsibilities
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Technical
Writing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
4-8 years of experience in physical security operations, data center security, or security program
documentation.
Proven ability to develop, maintain, and manage formal documentation in highly regulated or
mission-critical environments.
Experience working with or auditing against ISO 27001, SOC 2, or NIST frameworks preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of data center security systems including access control, mantrap systems,
CCTV, and visitor management.
Excellent technical writing, editing, and formatting skills for operational documentation.
Proficiency with document management tools such as SharePoint, Confluence, ServiceNow, or
equivalent.
Ability to translate complex technical or operational processes into clear written instructions.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple documentation projects
simultaneously.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: VP Global Security Operations
Works closely with: Data Center Operations Managers, Security Vendors, Compliance, Risk, and
Facilities Teams
Work Environment
Hybrid or on-site, depending on data center region.
Periodic travel required to regional data centers for site assessments and validation of SOPs or
post orders.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $78,000 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
