Job Description
You will lead the development and industrialization of solution polymerization process, transforming lab-scale discoveries into full-scale production. This position is based at a key U.S. manufacturing site with strategic importance to carbon fiber and high-performance materials production. They are providing relocation assistance for qualified candidates.
Develop and scale polymer and dope processes from R&D through pilot and commercial implementation Design sustainable and efficient chemical manufacturing methods Lead technical development in capital and process improvement projects Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, operations, and R&D teams Maintain compliance with process safety standards and industry best practices Stay current with polymer science and apply new methods to ongoing development MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant
Ph.D. (preferred) or Master's in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related discipline 5+ years of experience in chemical process development, including industrial solution polymerization Strong understanding of polymer chemistry and structure-property relationships Proven success scaling R&D processes to commercial production Hands-on experience with pilot plant operations and cross-disciplinary teams Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., PSM, EH&S standards) Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident What's on Offer
