Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to produce specifications for HVAC, Plumbing, and Sprinkler systems for commercial buildings. This role includes client-facing responsibilities for 2-4 projects simultaneously, providing updates on the mechanical aspects of projects. The candidate will conduct shop grind reviews during the construction administration phase and regularly attend project meetings with contractors and other engineers.
Responsibilities
Produce detailed specifications for HVAC, Plumbing, and Sprinkler systems.
Manage and update clients on multiple projects simultaneously.
Conduct shop grind reviews during construction administration.
Attend regular project meetings with contractors and engineering teams.
Essential Skills
Expertise in MEP, HVAC, mechanical design, and plumbing.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical building design.
Strong client-facing communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design.
5+ years of consulting experience.
Licensed Professional Engineer preferred, EIT required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in sprinkler system design and MEP design.
Experience with building design projects.
Work Environment
The position is based in a spacious office on the outskirts of downtown, where you will have your own office. The team comprises eight employees, including six engineers and two drafters, fostering a family-like environment. The company regularly organizes family dinners, social events, and holiday parties. Most work is based in Iowa, with occasional site visits. The role is primarily office-based, with typical work hours of 40-50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and summer hours from Monday to Thursday. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $135000.00/hr.
