As a
DESIGN ENGINEER III
at LJA
Land Development , you will be responsible for performing detailed design and engineering tasks in support of residential and commercial land development projects. This role includes preparing design calculations, plans, specifications, and quantity take-offs while working closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure the quality and accuracy of deliverables. The position provides an excellent opportunity to apply technical expertise and gain hands-on experience in single-family land development projects.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
Applying prescribed engineering methods to complete specific portions of broader project assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers. Performing design calculations, plan preparation, material specifications, and quantity take-offs. Adjusting and correlating project data and identifying discrepancies in results through detailed review processes. Exercising limited judgment in selecting and adapting methods, procedures, and design alternatives. Designing system components for integration within overall project layouts. Providing technical direction to support staff or drafting personnel as needed. Collaborating with engineers and project managers to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of project deliverables. REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 2 years of single-family land development experience required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships within a team environment. IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:
Experience with regional design standards and municipal approval processes. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil design software tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple project tasks efficiently. LEVEL UP WITH LJA
