Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 8 hours (03:00 - 23:30) Experience: 2 years minimum License: Valid state license required Certifications: IAHCSMM/HSPA Must-Have: - Prior travel assignment experience - Flu vaccine, no exemptions Description: The Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for ensuring that surgical instruments and related equipment are properly decontaminated, cleaned, inspected, assembled, and sterilized. This position requires knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures. Experience with automated endoscope reprocessors (AER) is essential. Technicians will use various chemical agents for decontamination and high-level disinfection. Cleaning equipment such as crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps will be part of the job responsibilities. Proper labeling and organization of trays are required. Candidates should be familiar with the use of washers and sterilizers. The role involves assembling and wrapping surgical instrument trays. Experience in orthopedic, general, cardiac, robotic, and urology procedures is advantageous. Familiarity with fiber optics and TEE probes will be beneficial. Documentation related to equipment and procedure processes is expected. The technician must comply with infection control policies and procedures. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
