Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail‑oriented Senior Accounting Analyst to support our Strategic Sourcing team in managing cost impacts given a changing tariff environment, reviewing detailed manufacturing costs, managing complex data sets for accuracy, and helping the team perform “what if” analyses across multiple business scenarios. This role will be instrumental in tracking versions of engineering changes, impacts to costs based on tariff changes, and supporting the sourcing team with tariff tracking, validation, and management with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sourcing, Legal, Tax and Finance teams to ensure alignment on customs strategies.
- Track company tariff costs and report out monthly on actuals and forecast.
- Provide input to the existing tariff approval process and enhance as needed to facilitate tariff approvals internally and externally with suppliers.
- Review and approve supplier quotes for tariff‑related charges, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Confidence to speak with suppliers to clarify, challenge, and validate tariff charges.
- Recommend and implement tariff mitigation strategies to reduce cost and risk.
- Provide recommendations on state‑specific tax implications and challenge incorrect tariff charges when necessary.
- Manage complex data sets – including detailed cost breakdowns across goods and services.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or sourcing/procurement, with a focus on cost analysis and tariff management.
- Strong knowledge of tariff landscape and implications to supplier costs with ongoing changes and shifts.
- Ability to create structure and clarity across multiple complex data sets.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost structures specific to manufactured goods and services.
- Solid understanding of U.S. state‑level tax implications related to imports.
- Ability to review customs and commercial invoices to validate tariff charges from suppliers.
- Expert at data analysis, including leveraging MS Excel to create easy‑to‑follow models documenting costs and managing changes over time, with ability to perform “what if” analyses.
- Ability to review and recommend changes in support of a newly created internal Sourcing‑led tariff review and approval process.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder education skills; strong ability to work cross‑functionally.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Sourcing and Procurement processes.
- Knowledge of international trade regulations, tariffs, and customs compliance.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
