Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Mechanical Engineer to support the development of two new products co-developed between our manufacturing team and customer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on involvement in ideation and prototyping, as you will be instrumental in the early concept work, prototyping, and design discussions. You will work collaboratively with the team to identify and address pain points, develop feature sets for design and manufacturing, and engage in the full lifecycle from concept to prototyping and validation.
Responsibilities
Support the development of new products through concept work, prototyping, and design discussions.
Identify and address pain points from the current state based on customer feedback during the installation phase.
Brainstorm additional pain points and develop feature sets for design and manufacturing.
Create initial drawings and contact suppliers for rough cost estimates on parts and tooling.
Engage in high-end prototyping that performs like real parts and participate in validation and lab activities.
Work closely with the manufacturing engineer during assembly to address pain points with first shot prototypes.
Track and itemize deliverables as requested by the customer, including tracking hours based on activity.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in CAD, specifically Creo.
5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
Hands-on prototyping experience or high mechanical aptitude.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as aluminum extrusions, formed sheet metal, die casting, and plastic injection molding.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Formal or informal leadership experience and the ability to work cross-functionally with different departments.
Experience in rough metal fabrication, including break forming, sheet metal, light welding operations, machining, mill, lathe, and CNC.
Proficiency in Solidworks.
Demonstrated ability to lead, direct work, and share ideas with the team.
Work Environment
This role offers a flexible 40-hour workweek from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break. You will be part of a collaborative team that includes a Project Manager, two Engineers from the customer, one Project Engineer, and two part-time support staff. The environment is supportive and encourages hands-on involvement in the development of innovative solutions. The role supports the development of poke through and floor box electrical systems.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $52.89/hr.
