Position Summary:
As the Credit (Accounts Receivable) Supervisor, you will lead the company's credit and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations, driving financial performance, optimizing receivables, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. This role combines analytical rigor, leadership, and emotional intelligence to evaluate creditworthiness, set loan terms, ensure timely collections, and strengthen customer relationships. Lead and mentor a team of Credit Specialists, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Sets clear performance goals and KPIs for team members; conduct regular one-on-ones and team meetings. Addresses team through structured coaching, accountability frameworks, and recognition programs. Design and implement robust credit policies, processes, benchmarks and scoring models to assess customer creditworthiness and mitigate financial risk. Oversee the full lifecycle of credit operations, including customer onboarding, credit application review, credit limit setting, payment terms, loan terms, and collections. Develop and execute strategies to reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and Overdues percentages, improve cash flow, and minimize bad debt. Work with customers to establish payment arrangements, authorizing payment extensions and performing write-offs and adjustments Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to resolve disputes, streamline payment processes, and enhance customer satisfaction Administer and optimize the Online Payment Portal, ensuring PCI compliance and adherence to surcharge regulations Monitor AR aging reports, initiate proactive outreach for delinquent accounts, and authorize payment extensions or write-offs as needed Provide recurring and periodic reporting and insights on AR trends, collection performance, and customer credit risk Through research and investigation, champion process improvement initiatives using data-driven analysis and industry benchmarks Navigate and resolve interpersonal dynamics within the team, providing coaching, performance feedback, and development plans Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by manager Critical Core Competencies and Skills:
Hands-on experience with accounting software Solid understanding of lending procedures and credit reporting agencies (D&B / Equifax) Strategic thinking and problem-solving Emotional intelligence and conflict resolution Data analysis and financial acumen Effective communication and stakeholder management Change leadership and team development Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to create and process financial spreadsheets High degree of honesty, ethics, and integrity with experience handling confidential information. Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to a changing environment; agile, flexible, and resilient Effective coaching, mentoring, and team leadership skills that model integrity and collaboration Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across all organizational levels. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Highly organized with strong ability to prioritize competing demands effectively Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required Proven work experience as a Credit Supervisor, Credit Analyst, AR Supervisor or similar role Proven experience managing teams, handling confidential information, and driving performance improvements Strong knowledge of credit laws, AR systems, and financial reporting tools Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems Preferred Education and Experience:
5+ years of experience in credit and collections, preferably in a B2B or industrial distribution environment and a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Or equivalent combination of education and experience Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
