Job Description:

Schnabel Engineering is eager to supplement and expand its current service offering to our clients in need of civil and geotechnical engineering services, particularly as they relate to investigations, planning and design for the mining, waste, power and transportation sectors. Qualified candidates will be well-rounded, organized problem solvers with excellent communication skills and an interest in solving technical challenges.

Job Responsibilities:

Manage multidisciplinary infrastructure projects through concept, investigation, design, and construction including budget, schedule, coordination, and task scope.

Participate in risk assessments for dams and hydraulic structures.

Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures and collect data and measurements in the field.

Assist in analyzing and designing components related to dams and water infrastructure, including scoping and leading engineering evaluation and design tasks.

Collaborate with and lead multidiscipline teams through the design process.

Assist in preparation of reports, plans, and specifications.

Work as a team member remotely across various Schnabel offices to effectively balance workload among available resources.

Assist in developing and maintaining a group of relationship-oriented clients that provide a continuous source of work for the firm.

Assist with developing engineering proposals and qualification statements

Perform management duties related to obtaining signed contracts, reviewing and approving invoices, developing, and tracking project schedules and budgets.

Manage and mentor junior engineers, commensurate with experience level.

Periodic travel may be required.

Required Skills/Experience:

A bachelor's degree focused in civil engineering, from an ABET-accredited institution

10+ years of relevant work experience in geotechnical, structural, water resources, or other engineering-related fields

A Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire

Project and/or construction management experience

Attention to detail and well organized

Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel. There is an opportunity for field inspection assignments associated with this opening for candidates with relevant qualifications

A strong work ethic and the desire to perform professionally at a high level

Excellent communication skills

A positive attitude

Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check

Ability to pass a pre-employment screening

The compensation range for this position is between $85,000 to $150,000. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
