Aston Carter
The Purchasing Manager plays a critical role in driving cost-effective procurement strategies and ensuring the seamless acquisition of goods and services necessary for business operations. This position is responsible for optimizing supplier relationships, managing procurement processes, and aligning purchasing activities with the company's strategic goals to support operational efficiency and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive purchasing strategies that support organizational objectives and growth.
Oversee the end-to-end procurement lifecycle from requisition through payment, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
Lead contract negotiations with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service-level agreements.
Monitor supplier performance metrics and proactively address issues related to quality, delivery timelines, and cost variances.
Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, potential risks, and opportunities for cost reduction and value creation.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and inventory teams to forecast demand and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, inventory levels, and supplier contracts using ERP systems.
Ensure adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Mentor and lead the purchasing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
Contract Manufacturing.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of successful vendor negotiations and strategic sourcing.
Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Deep understanding of supply chain principles, vendor management, and cost control strategies.
Epicor experience is highly preferred.
Electronics or small component experience preferred.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
Professional certifications such as CPM, CPSM, or CIPS.
Experience in global sourcing, logistics, and international trade compliance.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
