Position Summary
This position oversees the implementation of a strategic marketing plan to support Guido's and its tenants. The role is responsible for leading a team of communication, marketing, and design professionals to build sales through brand visibility and messaging. The Senior Marketing Manager will assist in the creation of digital, video, audio, and print content. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the position is a hands‑on project manager working independently and collaboratively to develop compelling content and campaigns. Strategy, Planning & Budget
Develops the annual marketing plan and editorial calendar aligned to business goals and brand standards. Creates and manages the annual marketing budget, ensuring ROI and disciplined spend. Sets channel strategy for email, social, web, print, signage, and in‑store promotions. Identifies marketing innovations, tools, and vendors suitable for a specialty grocery environment. Creative Direction & Production
Leads creative direction and brand stewardship across all touchpoints; maintains brand guidelines and asset libraries. Produces or supervises production of marketing assets (print and digital), ensuring typography, color, layout, accessibility, and pre‑press quality. Refines, catalogs, and archives digital assets. Oversees print/signage workflows end‑to‑end (brief, quote, proof, production, pickup/delivery) for menus, A‑frames, large signage, punch cards, etc. Partners with departments on packaging, bags, and product naming; aligns in‑store visuals with brand identity. Oversees the monthly execution of the Guido's Newsletter. Coordinates with the Kitchens/POS teams on all elements of holiday menus and strategy. Digital Marketing & Web
Owns website content updates and collaborates with the web partner (Mungy) on UX/content improvements. Oversees Digital Marketing Coordinator in the management of email marketing and social calendars; ensures consistent narrative with seasonal and monthly sales. Implements SEO/SEM basics, UTM tagging, and landing page/testing plans; reviews analytics to optimize performance. Advertising & Partnerships
Negotiates and manages paid placements with advertisers; evaluates reach, frequency, and effectiveness. Coordinates with INFRA and peer stores for joint promotions; represents Guido's at industry exchanges when marketing‑specific. Aligns with department managers, ownership, and tenants on messaging, major campaigns, and storewide signage needs. Community Engagement
Works with the Community Engagement Coordinator to facilitate community partnerships, sponsorships, and non‑profit advertising. Public Relations & Media
Works with the Community Engagement Coordinator for PR strategy, messaging and editorial calendar for earned media. Oversees media lists; drafts and distributes press releases, media advisories, op‑eds, and talking points. Team Leadership & Operations
Selects, leads, coaches, and develops the Marketing team; runs weekly meetings and annual performance reviews. Implements systems (e.g., Asana, Cognito) and SOPs for intake, briefs, approvals, and archiving. Audits marketing expenses for accurate coding and inventory treatment in coordination with the Accounting Department. Qualifications
5+ years in marketing/brand or retail marketing; grocery or consumer retail preferred. Exceptional writing/editing and visual communication skills; strong project management and vendor negotiation. Portfolio demonstrating applied graphic design for print and digital, as well as writing samples. Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and working knowledge of pre‑press and color management. Experience with WordPress, basic HTML/CSS for content edits, and email platforms (HubSpot). Fluency in analytics and testing (Google Analytics/GA4, UTM conventions, A/B testing). Working knowledge of SEO/SEM fundamentals and marketing automation best practices.
