Position Overview:
Title: Outside Sales Representative: Virginia
Workplace Type: Field Sales / Hybrid
Reports To: Sales Leadership
This is a growth‑focused sales role responsible for driving market development and customer engagement across a new and strategic sales territory.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development: Promote and sell a complete line of structural wood and engineered wood products to builders, contractors, and building supply dealers.
Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for customers, providing ongoing support and ensuring satisfaction through service, reliability, and technical expertise.
Product Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of structural framing systems to offer cost‑effective, efficient design and product recommendations.
Sales Strategy & Execution: Implement sales plans that align with regional revenue goals and contribute to a multimillion‑dollar branch target.
Territory: Centrally based in Richmond, VA, this territory extends south to Raleigh, NC, east to Newport News, VA, and west to Lynchburg, VA, covering approximately a 50‑mile radius around these key markets.
Qualifications & Candidate Profile:
Industry Experience: Background in building materials, preferably with experience in trusses, EWP, or related structural products.
Sales Expertise: Proven success managing a territory, meeting sales goals, and building strong partnerships with professional builders and contractors.
Technical Knowledge: Ability to interpret blueprints or construction drawings is a strong plus.
Professional Traits: Motivated, entrepreneurial, and customer‑focused individual with strong communication skills and a commitment to representing a quality‑driven, family‑owned business.
