The Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Engineering and Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Energy.
This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the development, engineering and commissioning, and support of HV substation automation systems, including SCADA and protection relays.
You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects, supporting customers, and driving continuous improvement across our operations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Apply standard engineering techniques to support testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
Contribute to planning and execution of commissioning strategies and documentation.
Participate in internal project reviews and represent the commissioning function in design and risk meetings.
Support project managers in contract management, including claims and risk assessments.
Prepare technical documentation and assist in sales proposals and presentations.
Coordinate site activities to ensure customer acceptance and certification.
Collaborate with supply chain teams to evaluate and approve technical solutions from suppliers.
Coach junior engineers and share technical knowledge through presentations and training.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and contractual requirements.
Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and support clients with technical issues and training.
Your Background
University degree in Electrical Engineering.
Proven experience in commissioning and servicing HV/MV secondary equipment (protection relays, SCADA).
Experience in electrical substation design and testing procedures.
Strong troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and technical reporting skills.
Clean driving license and willingness to travel frequently within the country.
Native Romanian speaker with good English proficiency.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication and self-organization skills.
