About This Role

As a Associate Data Analyst at AFS, you will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure our data solutions are robust, efficient, and support decision‑making processes. Passion for modern data infrastructure and fintech challenges is essential.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures that transform large volumes of raw data into actionable insights.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Optimize and improve the performance of existing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and workflows.
• Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency by applying validation and cleansing techniques.
• Implement best‑practices for data governance, security, and privacy, adhering to industry standards.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes, pipelines, and architecture.
• Partner with data scientists to enable advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
• Leverage cloud‑based platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to build and deploy data solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance and data quality issues within the data systems, resolving bottlenecks.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to keep AFS competitive in the rapidly evolving fintech landscape.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or equivalent work experience) required.
• 1+ year of work experience applying solutions with programming languages preferred.
• Experience in the fintech industry and knowledge of financial systems or trading platforms preferred.

Required Skills / Abilities

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Proficiency with SQL and relational database systems (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with APIs and integrating third‑party data sources.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and services like BigQuery, S3, Redshift, or Snowflake.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and database optimization techniques.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exceptional problem‑solving and analytical skills focused on delivering scalable solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective cross‑functional teamwork.

Work Environment

• This job operates in a hybrid office environment – three days per week.
