Air Distribution Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support plant operations in Dothan, AL. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for executing a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, training, union relations, and program administration. This role supports both hourly and salaried employees in a manufacturing environment and plays a key role in supporting the overall effectiveness of HR initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Recruit, interview, test, and select employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Maintain records of personnel transactions such as performance reviews and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Train management in the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Support applicable HR programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Conduct investigations and recommend actions to effectively resolve policy violations. Seek counsel from Legal as necessary to ensure proper risk management. Elevate matters to the regional HR lead or other appropriate authority as may be appropriate.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on various HR metrics including headcount, turnover, hours worked, etc.
  • Support production supervisors with the hourly employee performance review process.
  • Establish yourself as the go-to HR person for managers and employees.
  • Develop effective working relationships with local management and employees to influence and coach them on effective employment practices.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of five years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including email and Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work in close association with all levels of employees while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of affirmative action plans and the legal foundations of recruiting is preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR certification is preferred.

The work environment includes a professional office setting within the manufacturing plant. The HR Generalist will also regularly engage with employees in manufacturing areas, requiring time on the production floor to support operations, address employee needs, and ensure compliance.
