Oil Field Mechanic

We’re seeking a skilled and dependable Oil Field Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining oilfield equipment including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and heavy‑duty machinery. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel and gas engines, pumps, compressors, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on oilfield and rig equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
• Replace and repair components such as valves, seals, hoses, and fittings.
• Maintain accurate service records and equipment logs.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all repairs meet safety and operational standards.
• Travel to field sites as needed for on‑site repairs or maintenance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a mechanic in oilfield, heavy equipment, or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engines (Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit preferred).
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems, pneumatics, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and technical documents.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.

Preferred Skills

• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Knowledge of ordering and measuring specific parts such as valves, stems, and seals.
• Field service experience in oil and gas environments.
• Diesel & gas engine knowledge (Cummins required).
• Parts identification, measurement, and inventory management.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Communication and teamwork.
