Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and oversee financial operations within our organization in San Diego, California. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing accounting functions, supervising teams, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial reporting and compliance. Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of four administrative and office staff, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of weekly financial tasks.
- Oversee accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) processes to maintain efficient financial operations.
- Prepare and review weekly financial reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Manage the month-end and period close processes, including general ledger accuracy and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Analyze financial statements to identify opportunities for profit improvement and recommend actionable strategies.
- Ensure robust internal controls are in place and collaborate with District Operations Managers to maintain compliance.
- Assist in the development of forecasting and budgeting models to support financial planning.
- Provide backup support for payroll processing as needed.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
- Proficiency in managing corporate tax and sales tax processes.
- Hands-on experience with preparing corporate tax returns.
- Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger management.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on financial performance and improvement.
- Familiarity with financial forecasting and budgeting practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate with various departments.
