About The Role

We’re partnering with a growing public company seeking a hands‑on and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee their General Ledger operations. This individual will play a critical leadership role in managing daily accounting transactions, monthly close activities, internal controls, and audit support. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can lead a team, ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies, and continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Compensation

Salary: $130,000 – $145,000 plus bonus eligibility and comprehensive benefits package

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily accounting operations and manage the GL team to ensure proper recording of transactions in line with GAAP and company policies
  • Drive the monthly close process, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of internal financial reports
  • Review and approve balance sheet account reconciliations on a recurring basis
  • Lead and mentor accounting team members; oversee recruiting, hiring, and training of staff
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and manage quarterly and annual audit engagements
  • Support internal controls development and assist with SOX compliance efforts
  • Provide financial insights and reporting to cross‑functional departments as needed
  • Promote consistency and compliance across accounting and finance operations
  • Spearhead initiatives to automate the close process and lead related finance system projects
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting procedures and policies
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support departmental and organizational goals

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a management role
  • Experience with SOX compliance and internal control implementation
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
