Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for an Operations Engineer to develop and support functional, system level requirements, as a part of New Product Introductions (NPIs) development for scientific instrumentation.
Leverage positive relationships within R&E to develop and implement Operations requirements inside the PMP framework.
* Provide production debug support for new product builds to resolve both software and hardware manufacturing, process, and designs faults.
* Ensure NPI performance specifications are well detailed and transferable to Operations teams.
* Work closely with design engineering to identify areas where product fault coverage and fault isolation can be improved.
* Ensure all processes, fixtures, test programs, and equipment applied in manufacturing and at suppliers have adequate documentation, including but not limited to test plans, equipment functional specifications, system documentation, user guides.
* Develop test plans, product test specifications, and work instructions.
* Design and document functional test processes for new products or components.
* Develop and deliver training materials for field service and support installation teams.
BSEE, BSME, Bachelor's in Mechatronics, or equivalent with background in software and hardware product development environment. 4+ years of Test Engineering experience or equivalent. Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, C#, MATLAB) and ability to make modifications to support test upgrades.
* Experience with instrument calibration and application of measurement test limits.
* Experience with analog and digital circuits to support PCBA debug efforts.
* Experience with CAD software, PLM, ERP, and Final Test tools are a plus.
